Hypnagogic Hallucinations
Hypnagogic hallucinations occur when you experience a dream-like state during wakefulness and these are usual very vivid. However, the difference between these and a dream occurs when you experience real sensations during this episode, for example you will feel the touch of something, or taste. Hypnagogic Hallucinations are commonly found if you suffer from narcolepsy, but can also be an occurrence if you suffer from another kind of sleeping disorder and this is thought to occur due to the excessive daytime sleepiness. They can be quite frightening to experience but will hopefully ease or cease after the right treatment is provided for your sleeping disorder. If you do not suffer from narcolepsy but from another sleep disorder, you may find that treatment of your sleeping disorder and relief of your daytime sleepiness will rid you of these hypnagogic hallucinations.
