Can I use Tampons again after an Abortion?
The biggest risk to you after having an abortion is getting an infection and in many cases you will be given antibiotics at the time of the procedure as a precaution. Once you have had your abortion treatment you will be given an information sheet from the clinic and they will talk you through what to expect in terms of what is normal to experience and what to do if you are worried about something.
Along with this advice there are certain things you should not do to avoid getting an infection. After having an abortion you should always use sanitary towels rather than tampons as this helps to reduce your chances of getting an infection. However once your next period arrives you are able to use tampon again if you choose to.
