It is important that you are realistic about the end result of Power-Assisted Liposuction.  There will be some noticeable differences to your body after the surgery, and within a few days, once the swelling has dissipated, you will be able to see a definite difference in the shape of the area that you have had treated.  Due to the nature of ‘tumescent’ liposuction techniques your body is likely to continue to break down fat cells after your surgery, and this will mean that over time the area treated will continue to change shape.  This might take anything up to six months.  It is important that you follow your surgeons’ post-operative advice and maintain a good diet and exercise regime.  Gaining a lot of weight or not following health advice could mean that the surgery doesn’t work; it is not a long-term solution or a substitute for a healthy lifestyle.  Generally if you follow advice given you will be able to maintain your new, in proportion, body forever.
