Root Resection Surgery Recovery

After Root Resection Surgery you are likely to experience swelling and discomfort.  This will occur for a couple of days and might be accompanied by small amounts of bleeding from the wound.  You should avoid chewing for a week after root resection surgery as it could easily aggravate the stitches and lengthen your recovery time.  Usually it will take a week to ten days before your dentist will remove the stitches, and it could take up to two weeks before you are able to chew and eat normally again.  It is also likely that your dentist will place a dental crown on the affected tooth.
