If your varicose veins are not causing you discomfort, but you do not like their appearance there are some things that you can do to reduce their appearance.
Cover Up Make- up
There are many professional make- ups, which can cover varicose veins. These are the same as camouflage make- up, which is normally used to cover scars, tattoos, and birthmarks. If your varicose veins are red you should apply a green basecoat before applying the cover- up this will prevent the red from coming through your make- up.
Before applying the make- up you should clean, and thoroughly dry the skin around your varicose vein. You should then choose the correct colour for your skin tone; you may need to combine two colours to get the best possible match. If you are unsure what colour to use you can mix different shades on the back of your hand until you get a match. You can then apply the cover up make- up with the tips of your fingers, a make- up brush, or a make- up sponge, blending it in so that you do not get a make- up line. Once you have a natural effect you can apply some fixing spray to ensure that the cover lasts and then finish it off with some powder to give a matt effect.
Clothing
If you do not want the trouble of applying, make- up every morning varicose veins can easily be covered using clothing. If you normally wear skirts, wearing tights or stockings underneath can sometimes be enough to hide your varicose veins. It is possible to buy compression stockings, which are designed to help your circulation and some are designed to look like normal stockings.
If tights or stockings do not cover your varicose veins, you can wear trouser suits. These are thicker so would not allow anyone to see your varicose veins. You should avoid tight fitted trousers as these will limit the circulation in your legs and worsen your condition. It is easy to find attractive trousers if you shop around. If you want advice on selecting a fashionable pair of trousers that will cover your varicose veins, you could see a personal shopper who will help you to feel your best.
