Crest Pro-Health Enamel Shield toothpaste is chiefly proposed to help guard enamel that can become weaker due to general deterioration over time as well as poor dental care. This toothpaste also provides the sort of protection associated with other toothpastes such as resistance against halitosis (bad breath), gingivitis and cavity formation.
Why is it important to protect enamel?
Enamel can be eroded away a lot more easily that it can be gained back. It is the toughest substance in the body, and therefore, the most robust. It forms a protective layer around the teeth to keep dentine and nerves confined away from the oral environment. Once enamel starts to wear away, it can make the tooth vulnerable to cavity formation and tooth decay. Not only this, but if the porous dentine layer is exposed, teeth can become sensitive. This occurs when certain food and drink (often hot or cold) are consumed and come into contact with the nerves. This triggers pain signals to be sent to the brain. As a consequence of sensitive teeth, meal times can become rather painful and inconvenient so it is important to prevent this from happening by strengthening the enamel.
How does it work?
Crest Pro-Health Enamel Shield toothpaste has three key ways to protect the enamel:
- Certain components Crest have added to the toothpaste that binds onto the tooth surface to form a thin safeguard against harmful bacteria that typically erode plaque.
- The toothpaste acts in an antibacterial manner in order to efficiently destroy these harmful bacteria.
- Pro-Health Enamel Shield is capable of remineralising the teeth to make the enamel stronger and more resilient to rotting.
Who is this toothpaste suitable for?
This toothpaste is generally suitable for use by everyone. However, it is primarily aimed at those who happen to have weak enamel and tend to get cavities on a recurrent basis.
Recommended Usage
This toothpaste should be incorporated into your normal oral hygiene routine. You should used Pro-Health Enamel Shield every morning and night, brushing for about two minutes each time.
