Nocturnal Enuresis
Nocturnal enuresis is the medical term for bed-wetting which is common amongst children. It occurs due to the child not waking up when their bladder is full or an inability to contract their bladder, which is something that comes with age. Obviously, bedwetting in young children is not considered an issue, just an inconvenient part of growing up. However, should you child still be bed-wetting after the age of five, then there may be a cause for concern. Importantly, you should monitor your child’s bed wetting and consult a doctor as it could be related to either psychological or physical illness including kidney failure, infection of the urinary tract and so on. Monitor whether your child feels any pain during the day or when passing urine at the toilet.
