Weight-Loss on the Atkins Diet
Typical Weight-loss on the Atkins Diet
It is difficult to predict weight loss on any diet. Different people diet and lose weight differently – some individuals lose weight most effectively by losing it rapidly, others by a slow, sustained and gradual weight loss. You will probably already be aware of your individual dieting style.
However, Dr Atkins has estimated that, if you stick to the diet religiously, in the first two weeks of the Induction stage you can lose between 6 to 10 pounds. In the On-going weight loss stage this will likely slow to a predicted weight loss figure of between 1 and 3 pounds a week. In the Pre-maintenance stage you will probably lose limited amounts of weight, possibly not even 1 pound per week.
