Homeopathy for Hay Fever
In some ways, homeopathy is like undergoing a treatment of immunotherapy, but without the drugs and injections. It works based on the same principle, whereby you subject your body to very small amounts of a particular substance found in nature that mimic the ability of allergens to trigger the immune system into thinking it has come across a foreign matter in the body. By taking a small dose of a natural substance, usually in a tablet or liquid form, the immune system slowly becomes less and less sensitive to the offending allergen and the symptoms of hay fever can be all but banished. By using natural products you will be less likely to suffer any of the side effects associated with conventional hay fever remedies such as the tiredness, fatigue and dry mouth.
There are a vast number of natural remedies available for the treatment of hay fever. Many are based on fruit, vegetables and herbs. Listed below are some of the more commonly used ingredients to help reduce the symptoms of hay fever using the help of mother nature.

Allium cepa is simply known commonly as red onion. It helps with the symptoms of runny nose and burning eyes. It works best taken as a teaspoon of steeped red onion three times a day.
Arsenicum Album
Arsenicum album can be found as a preparation made from arsenic. Although toxic in it’s full strength, arsenic, if prepared properly as a homeopathic remedy contains very little in the final preparation. It is usually taken as a liquid and helps with inflammation and redness around the eyes, congestion, sneezing and tickly throat.

Natrum Muriaticum

Practitioners of homeopathy use it for hay fever to reduce the levels of fluid in the body, thus reducing the amount of fluid that escapes from the eyes and nose. It is prepared by crushing up the crystals produced by boiling salty water and fashioning the powder into a liquid or a tablet form.
Nux Vomica
Nux vomica is actually a preparation made from the seeds of the poisonous tree strychnos nux vomica. It is found mainly in the eastern hemisphere. It is the fruit from these trees that yield the seeds that are used for this homeopathic remedy. The remedy is very useful for congestion and tickly cough. Tablets and liquids are the most common forms used.
Sabadilla
Sabadilla is from the plant family Schoenocaulon officinale, which is part of the lily family. It is the seeds from the plant that are used to help with the reduction of sneezing, itchy eyes, nose and throat.
Wyethia
