Botulinum Toxin (Botox)

A relatively simple procedure involves the injection of Botox into the tail of your eyebrows. The muscles here a responsible for pulling down the eyebrows and thus affecting the appearance of your whole face. By injecting this area with Botox, these muscles are relaxed, which allows the eyebrows to rise, giving a more youthful and less tired look, in the same way which transblepharoplasty works.

Botox is only ever a temporary solution to tired looking eyes, lasting on average a couple of months, before allowing the muscles to tighten again and pull downwards the tails or your eyebrows. You will then need to return to a clinic for another injection. Of course this is a quick, simple and cheaper alternative to surgery, but must be gone through several times a year to keep your eyes looking healthy. Botox can also be used to reduce wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes, and on the cheeks.

Other Solutions

Although not nearly as effective, alternatives to surgery involve making the eyebrows smaller by plucking, shaping or pencilling them, so that they appear higher on the forehead than before. This will never provide the same results as surgery or Botox but can slightly alter the look of your face.
