Labiaplasty Surgeons

Find Labiaplasty Surgery Clinics in London & UK »

The only people who ought to conduct a labiaplasty within the UK are those qualified in both gynaecology and cosmetic surgery.  There are limited numbers of surgeons properly qualified, so it is important that you do your research and find someone who you are confident in.

In the UK all surgeons start by being a doctor and undertake all of the usual training that a doctor has.  After this they specialise and become a ‘Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons’ (FRCS).  If someone has FRCS after their name then they have had additional years of training in order to conduct surgery.  This, however, doesn’t mean that they are qualified to perform plastic surgery, this takes an additional couple of years of study which will eventually allow them to place FRCS (plast) after their name.  On top of this some surgeons will undertake further study and examination and become a member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, (BAAPS).

If you wish no know about your surgeons particular qualifications then just ask them.  They will be more than happy to explain where they did their studies and their qualifications.  As well as this you can find out about your surgeon through the General Medical Council, or the GMC.  This organisation can provide you with information on all of the surgeons within the UK, the information is available online or over the phone.

It is best to ask your GP to advise you on how to find a surgeon qualified to perform your labiaplasty.  They will have a good knowledge of all the surgeons within your area and will be able to pass on any important information regarding your present health.

Surgeons outside of the UK will have different qualifications and letters after their name, and it is up to you to find out about their skills and training.  Every country has a different qualification, and if you do decide to have surgery abroad then it is good to research the necessities of the country that you choose.
