Cosmetic and repairing surgeries that aren’t granted by the NHS are usually a lot cheaper abroad.  This is one option to consider when looking into having a vaginoplasty, as often the cost of the surgery can be severely limiting and could determine whether or not you go ahead.  For an example of the savings that you could make, in Hungary a vaginoplasty is quoted at £950.  However, although this looks very attractive it is very important that you do your homework before you agree to have a vaginoplasty abroad.  It is imperative that you:

• Check the surgeons’ credentials and ensure that they are properly qualified and trained in gynaecology and surgery.
• Find out whether there are any hidden costs, such as consultation fees or aftercare.
• Talk so someone who has already had the surgery at the clinic that you are considering.
• Visit the clinic and your surgeon before the date of the surgery.
• Ensure that all appropriate medical equipment will be nearby when you undergo the surgery.
• Look into the travelling costs and find out if a hotel or accommodation is included in their fee. 
• Ask for information concerning problems with your recovery, what support they offer etc.

Unfortunately there are places abroad that have given surgery abroad a bad reputation, and it is very important to make sure that what you are getting is the equivalent of the surgery within the UK.
