How long Ultherapy takes

Ultherapy sessions typically take between 60 and 90 minutes and in most cases, only one treatment session is needed.

Before treatment, local anaesthetic will be administered to prevent any pain and the practitioner will then place the ultrasound hand-piece on the skin and direct the beams to the optimum depth using a screen to guide them. The practitioner will move the hand-piece around and after 60-90 minutes, treatment will be complete.

In cases of minor and moderate laxity of the skin, usually only one session is required; however, the skin will continue to age as normal after treatment and repeat sessions may be organised further down the line to further reduce the signs of ageing. In cases of more severe laxity, additional sessions may be required during the first course of treatment. Your doctor will discuss the number of treatment sessions with you when you have your consultation.

The results of ultherapy treatment are not noticeable immediately; it can take at least 3 weeks for effects to become visible and the full benefits will not be clear to see until 60-90 days after treatment.
