Weleda Toothpaste

Weleda produces natural, organic toothpastes that were developed with the help of top European dentists.
The toothpaste range does not include a number of things often found in toothpastes including, fluoride, flavourings, disinfectants and bleaches (and many more). Despite managing to eliminate such a large number of ingredients, Weleda has still manage to conjure up four varieties:
- Weleda Salt Toothpaste – The salt in this toothpaste is used to neutralise acids produced by the bacteria in our mouths, whilst promoting saliva production as this helps clean our mouths and reduce tartar build up.
- Weleda Calendula Toothpaste – If you are using homeopathic medicines (highly diluted medicines), this toothpaste is suitable for you as Weleda have excluded peppermint. This toothpaste is chalk-based to provide a gentle cleaning abrasive whilst polishing the teeth. Regular use if this toothpaste also prevents plaque build up and other ingredients in this toothpaste make it antiseptic and anti-inflammatory.
- Weleda Plant Gel Toothpaste – Whereas most toothpastes that contain silica have adapted it into the paste, this toothpaste contains natural silica still in its gel form making it extra gentle on tooth enamel. This is ideal if you have sensitive gums. Like the Calendula toothpaste, this Plant Gel version also contains a natural antiseptic and anti-inflammatory as well as an ingredient that claims to tighten gums.
- Weleda Ratanhia Toothpaste – This is recommended to strengthen the gums. Out of the four Weleda varieties, this one seems to be most pushed towards family use. This Ratanhia toothpaste also contains precipitated chalk for gentle cleaning and enamel protection. Essential oils of mints are included to freshen breath.
