Aquafresh Milk Teeth toothpaste is specially formulated for use in children between the ages of 0 and 3 years old who are in the process of growing their milk teeth. The toothpaste is aimed at parents wishing to maintain their young child’s healthy teeth and gums, whilst building up a teeth-cleaning routine for the child to continue with in the future. Aquafresh Milk Teeth is currently only available in the UK.
How it is adapted for such young children?
Aquafresh Milk Teeth is very gentle toothpaste with the inclusion of the minimal level of fluoride (500 ppm). This prevents the child from swallowing too much fluoride and developing fluorosis, a dental problem where the teeth develop specks of discolouration. Also, the gentleness of the toothpaste as well as the key ingredient of calcium ensures that the soft milk teeth are not weakened or worn down in the brushing process.
Another main adaptation that Aquafresh has made to ensure the suitability of this toothpaste for young children is by giving it a faint mint flavour, opposing the significantly strong tastes experienced in regular toothpaste. This helps the baby’s breathe stay fresh but without subjecting them to a taste, which they may find overpowering and unpleasant. Not only does this mild flavour help with the tooth brushing process now, but it also prepares them for further brushing in the future with stronger flavoured pastes.
Recommended usage
A rather small amount of Aquafresh Milk Teeth should be applied to a soft toothbrush before use twice every day (morning and night). By maintaining this routine every day, twice a day, you will protect the child’s teeth against plaque and cavities caused by bacteria that may build up if regular tooth brushing does not occur.
