Qlaira Suitability
The pill contains hormones that control the menstrual cycle and they can have adverse effects on some women and their illnesses. Therefore, if you have some medical conditions, you will not be prescribed Qlaira. Sometimes, the pill can aggravate illnesses and some women may have to use caution when using the contraceptive pill.
If you have ever had blood clots or problems with bleeding which mean you are using clotting agents, you should not use the pill. Also you should not use it if you have ever had irregular or heavy vaginal bleeding, have high levels of fat in the blood or have diabetes with blood vessel problems. Other conditions such as liver tumours, cancers, pancreatitis, liver disease, migraines or very high blood pressure may stop you from using Qlaira. You should also not use the pill if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if you have ever had a heart attack or a stroke.
Sometime, you can take the pill as long as you are careful. Qlaira has the potential to aggravate some illnesses so if you have any of these illnesses, you can use the pill but you will need to attend regular check ups to make sure your health isn’t deteriorating. You can use the pill with caution if you have relatives with breast cancer or blood clots, have diabetes, jaundice, depression, sickle cell disease, systemic lupus erthematosus, chloasma, Sydenham’s chorea, gall bladder problems or porphyrias.
If you notice that any of your conditions are getting worse, you need to mention this to your doctor. Also, if you experience any of the illnesses above for the first time, you need to report these immediately. It may be that you are not suitable for this method of contraception and will need to try something else. If you had any illnesses when you were pregnant and these return, you need to contact your doctor and report your symptoms.
