Side Effects of Dianette
There are a number of side effects that Dianette can cause. These range from common to extremely rare and some are more serious than others. It is unlikely that you will experience side effects from Dianette but if you do and they are adversely affecting you, contact your doctor because Dianette may not be the right pill for you. Also, if you experience any side effects that are classed as serious, seek medical attention immediately as they could be signs of underlying conditions that are a serious threat to your health.
Common side effects such as nausea, stomach ache and mood swings affect between 100 and 1000 women out of 10,000 that use Dianette. You are likely to also experience tender breasts, headaches and may also put on weight. There may also be bleeding throughout the cycle that is very irregular but this is normal. If the bleeding becomes heavy and lasts longer than usual spotting, contact your doctor. Also, if you experience anything more than a headache such as a serious migraine or a migraine with aura, you need to contact your doctor as soon as possible.
You may also experience vomiting, decrease in sexual libido, skin rashes, fluid retention and migraines but the chances of these decreases to between 10 and 100 in every 10,000 Dianette users. Rarer side effects such as losing weigh, vaginal discharge or problems with contact lenses affect between 1 and 10 in 10,000 women. It is unlikely that you will experience these side effects.
Serious side effects are very rare but they may be signs of serious conditions such as blood clots or cancers. If you have sharp pains in your chest, pains in your legs, severe migraines, difficulty breathing, changes in vision, lumps in your breasts, changes in the nipple or the skin, severe abdominal pain or swelling of limbs, tell your doctor immediately.
