Side Effects of Loestrin?
Side effects are a downside of every medication. However, just because a medication can have a number of side effects, it does not mean that you will experience them. Most women do not have side effects when using Loestrin, especially if you are using the lower dose version. If you do experience side effects, they will usually be in the first few months after starting the pill and will disappear over time. However, there are a number of side effects that can be quite serious so if you experience any of them, you must contact your doctor immediately.
If you experience severe headaches or migraines, you must seek medical attention especially if they cause your vision to blur. Also, if you experience chest pains, difficulty breathing, speech problems, dizziness, numbness in parts of your body, swelling of limbs or pains down you leg, tell your doctor. These could be signs of a blood clot, which can be life-threatening.
Other side effects associated with the pill are not as serious as those mentioned above. The most common side effects are tender breasts, irregular bleeding, changes in your sex drive, bloating or depression. You may also experience changes to your eyes, which means that you may be irritated when you wear contact lenses. You may also have chloasma, rashes, problems with tolerating sugars, jaundice or breast discharge.
Some other side effects have been reported whilst using the pill but it is not believed that the pill is connected to them. However, there is a chance that you may get back pain, acne, kidney problems, anxiety, weight gain, liver problems or hair loss.
